SCRAP has announced the latest real escape game collaboration with the TV anime Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End). Titled “Escape from the Demon-Infested Village” (魔族潜む村からの脱出), the event will begin on September 10, 2026 at the Real Escape Game Harajuku store in Tokyo, before touring nationwide. This is the second collaboration following the popular first game “Escape from the Thousand-Year Dream,” which attracted over 30,000 participants across 15 cities. That first event is currently being re-staged at the Harajuku store to commemorate the conclusion of the TV anime’s second season.
About the Anime
Sousou no Frieren is based on the manga by Yamada Kanehito (story) and Abe Tsukasa (art), serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. The story takes place after the hero party has defeated the Demon King, following the long-lived elf mage Frieren as she journeys with new companions. The high-quality animation and storytelling earned widespread acclaim. The anime’s second season recently concluded, and a third season (Golden Land arc) is upcoming.
Story of the New Escape Game
Set during Frieren’s earlier journey with the hero party, the game places participants in the village of Grauben, where a demon’s “magic that tears bonds apart” has turned villagers against each other. The player takes the role of a novice mage from the village who seeks help from the hero party. Himmel and the others search for the demon, but it cleverly hides among the villagers, and even Himmel falls victim to the demon’s magic. Participants must use their magical abilities to identify the disguised demon and work with Frieren and the party to save the villagers and Himmel.

The event promises to let players experience the terror of demons as depicted in the series—demons that mimic human appearance and behavior to deceive. Can you correctly distinguish the villagers to save from the demons to defeat?
Event Details and Tickets
The game will run from September 10, 2026 at the Real Escape Game Harajuku store (JUST Harajuku B1F, Shibuya, Tokyo). Additional venues will be announced later on the official website. Each session lasts 60 minutes of play time, with a total required time of 120 minutes. The event is recommended for junior high school students and above, and starts simultaneously for all participants. No fixed team size is required.

A special bonus ticket is available for an additional 3,500 yen (tax included). It includes an original item: “Magic that Connects 300 Years” (300年の時をつなぐ魔法), which consists of an acrylic clock (W150×H150mm or less) and a limited puzzle set.
The event features newly recorded voice lines from the characters, adding to the immersive experience. Participants will solve village problems, investigate the demon’s whereabouts, and feel as if they are adventuring alongside Frieren and the party.
