Fans of Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica have a new collectible to look forward to: the “Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Movie – Walpurgis no Kaiten Wafer” snacks are set to hit store shelves across Japan from November 2026. Each pack will be priced at 176 yen (tax included) and will be available at mass retailers nationwide.

Each wafer pack contains one cocoa cream–flavored wafer and one metallic card from a lineup of 30 different designs. The cards are divided into four categories:
- Special Cards (10 types) – featuring newly drawn illustrations with holographic foil stamping
- Visual Cards (8 types)
- Character Cards (7 types)
- Story Cards (5 types)
The special cards in particular are highlighted as “newly drawn illustrations with holographic foil stamping,” making them a must-have for collectors.
About the Series
Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica is an original anime directed by Shinbou Akiyuki, with scripts by Urobuchi Gen (Nitroplus), original character designs by Aoki Ume, and animation production by Shaft. The story begins when ordinary middle schooler Kaname Madoka encounters a mysterious creature, leading her into a world of magical girls born from wishes. The series is known for its cute character designs contrasted with unpredictable, thrilling plot developments, brought to life by Shaft’s distinctive visual style, the avant-garde imagery of the theater troupe Inu Curry (responsible for the series’異空間 design), and the dramatic musical score by Kajiura Yuki.
The original TV series aired 12 episodes in 2011, followed by two compilation films in 2012 (Part 1: Beginning Story and Part 2: Eternal Story) and an all-new film, Part 3: Rebellion Story, in 2013. The latest installment, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Movie – Walpurgis no Kaiten, is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026.
