Series Overview
The summer 2026 anime Kore Kaite Shine (これ描いて死ね) has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for its first episode, titled “Mahou Yashiki ~ Konna Toki, Manga no Shujinkou nara?” (Magic Mansion – What Would a Manga Protagonist Do?). The episode is set to air on July 3, 2026.
Based on the manga by Toyoda Minoru, which won the Manga Taisho 2023 Grand Prize and the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award, the story is a manga-romance growth tale that has also earned high praise on social media. The series follows An Kai, a first-year high school student living on Izuou Island in Tokyo, who loves reading manga. After a certain incident, she begins to think about creating manga herself. The anime promises to pack in both the pain and joy of creation, delivering a “manga × high school girl youth story” overflowing with love for manga.

Episode 1 Synopsis
An Kai, a manga-loving high school student living on Izuou Island, is a huge fan of ☆No 0’s manga Robota to Pokota. By her side is her imaginary friend, Pokota.
One day, her homeroom teacher, Tejima-sensei, confiscates the manga she was reading during class and denies the value of manga itself. Feeling down, An Kai learns that ☆No 0 will be distributing a new work at Comitia, and she hatches a plan.
Broadcast Information
The first episode of Kore Kaite Shine will air on July 3, 2026 (Friday) on Nippon Television’s “Furaani” slot from 23:30 (first episode starts at 23:35) on a 30-station network nationwide. Additional broadcasts on AT-X from July 10, 2026 (Friday) at 22:30 (with repeats on Tuesdays at 10:30 and Thursdays at 16:30).
Streaming: U-NEXT, Anime Houdai, Lemino, Anime Times will have the fastest simulcast starting July 3 at 24:00 (first episode at 24:05). Other services will begin streaming from July 6, 2026 (Monday) at 24:00. See individual platforms for details.
