The summer 2026 anime Uchi no Otouto-domo ga Sumimasen has released the synopsis and preview cuts for its first episode, titled “Youkoso Naruta-ke e” (Welcome to the Naruta Family), which will begin airing on July 3, 2026.
Based on the manga by Ozaki Akira, serialized in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret and surpassing 3 million copies in cumulative circulation, Uchi no Otouto-domo ga Sumimasen is a sweet home romantic comedy. Directed by Nanba Hitoshi, the anime is produced by Lay-duce. The cast includes Oozora Naomi as Naruta Ito, Masuda Toshiki as Naruta Gen, Yashiro Taku as Naruta Raku, Ono Kenshou as Naruta Shuu, Terasawa Momoka as Naruta Rui, Ono Daisuke as Naruta Isao, and Endou Aya as Naruta Saho.
Episode 1 Synopsis
During the spring break at the end of her first year of high school, high school girl Ito moves due to her mother’s remarriage. She looks forward to living with her new father and the three of them. However, waiting for her at the new home are her father and four brothers.
The eldest son, Gen, is unsociable but cares for his family; the second son, Raku, is calm and refreshing; the third son, Shuu, is a shut-in who rarely shows himself; and the youngest, Rui, is always energetic and good at being spoiled. Thus begins the lively daily life of a new eldest daughter and four brothers with distinct personalities.
Ito tries her best to get along with her father and the four brothers, and as the “older sister,” she enthusiastically takes on household chores. However, she struggles to get along with the unsociable eldest son, Gen.
The first episode “Youkoso Naruta-ke e” will air on TOKYO MX and other stations starting July 3, 2026 (Friday).
Broadcast & Streaming Information
The anime will run for two consecutive cours (24 episodes total). Broadcast begins July 3, 2026 at 24:00 on TOKYO MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11. ABC TV will start on July 8 (Wednesday) at 26:45. Streaming will be available on dAnime Store and ABEMA simultaneously with the terrestrial broadcast starting July 3 at 24:00.
