※ The following contains spoilers for those who have not seen the episode. Please proceed with caution.
In episode 13, Zenitsu Agatsuma, who had previously awakened and used Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash, was still wandering lost in the mansion of the demon Kyogai. He searched for Tanjiro but was so scared that Teruko’s brother Shoichi asked, “Aren’t you going around in circles?” Online, viewers commented “Zenitsu is pathetic…” and “Zenitsu’s part in the Drum Mansion really makes me laugh.”

Meanwhile, Tanjiro faced Kyogai, fighting despite broken bones. He declared, “I won’t break. I won’t give up!” This triggered a memory in Kyogai of being told his writing was garbage. Viewers sympathized: “Kyogai’s past…” “He was a writer…” “His sadness is something humans can understand…” “That line really cuts deep for creators…”

Tanjiro, unaware of Kyogai’s past, carefully avoided stepping on the scattered manuscripts Kyogai had written. Fans noted: “Tanjiro doesn’t step on the manuscripts” “That’s amazing.” Tanjiro realized that by avoiding the paper, he found a way to move and breathe without aggravating his injuries.

Tanjiro eventually beheaded Kyogai. In his final moments, Kyogai asked, “Is my Blood Demon Art… amazing?” As he faded, he wept because Tanjiro had not stepped on his manuscripts. Viewers were moved: “For Kyogai, being praised and having his manuscripts untouched was the greatest salvation.” “Kyogai, you were finally acknowledged.” “Tanjiro is such a comfort to Kyogai.” “It’s heartbreaking but beautiful.” “He wanted to be recognized while alive.” “Kyogai was a kind, sensitive person.” “I’m glad he found peace.”

The next episode preview’s “Taisho Secret Gossip” revealed that Kyogai loved the novel Hakkenden and wrote his own historical fantasy stories.
“That’s Tanjiro’s Most Important Thing”
After retrieving Kiyo and Teruko, Tanjiro headed outside and found Zenitsu beaten up by Inosuke Hashibira, who was demanding he draw his sword. Zenitsu, bruised, said, “Tanjiro, I protected it. You said this was more important than your life…” Fans were captivated: “This is where I changed my opinion of Zenitsu.” “Zenitsu is too cool, I’m crying.” “A rare cool moment from awake Zenitsu.”
Earlier, Inosuke had appeared and tried to slash the box containing Nezuko. Zenitsu, recognizing Inosuke as the fifth survivor of the Final Selection, shouted, “I won’t let you touch this box! It’s Tanjiro’s most important thing!” Viewers reacted: “Zenitsu is amazing for protecting the box without knowing what’s inside.” “This episode erased my initial dislike of Zenitsu.” “He’s a man who acts when it counts.” “I fell in love with Zenitsu here.” “He protected Nezuko even before seeing her.” “He didn’t run away this time.” “Every time I see this scene, my tear ducts loosen.”
Tanjiro had already told Zenitsu he was traveling with a demon, and Zenitsu trusted him. Fans noted: “The first meeting of Zenitsu and Inosuke is so intense.” “No one would think they’d become best friends.” “Their bond is amazing despite such a bad start.” Tanjiro then charged at Inosuke to stop him.

For episode 13, Kyogai’s voice actor Junichi Suwabe shared: “After the broadcast, a wagaku instrument performer I worked with on stage said, ‘Thank you for taking up the drums!’ I didn’t create the character, but I felt the strong influence of the work.” Suwabe is also known for roles such as Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen, Keigo Atobe in The Prince of Tennis, and Shota Aizawa in My Hero Academia.
That wraps up the summary of the rebroadcast of episode 13.
