TV anime Tai Arigatou Deshita. ~Ojousama wa Kakutou Game Nante Shinai~ begins broadcasting today, July 7, 2026. To commemorate the premiere, the first batch of support comments from 20 prominent figures who love fighting games—including pro gamers, streamers, VTubers, and comedians—has been released.

Based on the manga by Eshima Eri serialized in Monthly Comic Flapper, the series depicts the passionate fighting game battles among students at a young ladies’ school. The manga has 10 volumes and was previously adapted into a live-action drama on NTT Docomo’s Lemino in 2023. The story follows commoner Fukatsuki Aya, who enrolls in the school and admires the “White Lily” Yae Mio. One day, Aya discovers Mio secretly playing a fighting game in an empty classroom, and Mio realizes Aya is also a gamer. Despite the school’s ban on games, the two decide to fight now, igniting a fiery fighting game life.

Support Comments
Akira (Hiroshima Team iXA)
From a gentle school atmosphere to a frenzy of victory taunts. It’s like seeing a usually kind person suddenly intense at the arcade, making you smile involuntarily. Only Tai Arigatou Deshita. lets you hear the arcade stick sounds and the “Sabi Metsu” in anime!
Ameyui Moka (VTuber, Vspo!)
Congratulations on the broadcast of the first episode!! I love the characters—they love games, they’re earnest, and they’re straightforward! There are many niche inside jokes, and the battle scenes are full of excitement!! It makes me feel like I want to do my best too! I hope both people who don’t know fighting games and those who do will watch it. Tai Arigatou Deshita!
Itabashi Zangief (Pro Gamer, DetonatioN FocusMe)
Fighting games are most fun when it’s a straight-up “me vs. you” showdown. The young ladies have completely fallen for that charm… What will become of them…!
Inaba Haneru (VTuber, Nanashinchu)
From the first episode, the energy is packed to the screen edge—it was amazing! I was thrilled by the mind games of the young ladies, and it made me think I have to keep buzzing too. All the young ladies are cute~
Utahiroba Jun (Golden Bomber)
The intense battles
Osu Akira (Esports Photographer)
Tai Arigatou, I’ve been enjoying the original manga. I’ve spent more than three-quarters of my life with fighting games, and when I heard the piano key button input sounds in the first episode, I burst out laughing and realized anew, “An anime about fighting games is really airing in this era.” The chaos is even better with the animation-specific movements and sound effects. I’m looking forward to the second episode and beyond.
Kuramochi Yuka (Talent)
The animation is especially beautiful, and the gap between the sparkly cute young ladies seriously taking on Street Fighter 6 is the best! The integration of game footage is natural, and the opening that pays homage to the entrance performance is so cool I want to watch it over and over!
Koku-nii (Streamer, REJECT)
I thought, “No way a young lady would play fighting games!” But then the meaning of playing fighting games, the methods to get stronger, the joy of having a match—all the emotions we had back then flashed back, and I ended up watching it all the way through with nostalgia! If I had met a White Lily in my school days, my life might have changed!
Zuzu (Streamer and Multi-Creator)
Wow—the protagonist’s strength! The rival’s grit! There were so many things that hit home for me! It’s a wonderful anime that captivates anime fans and also captivates Street Fighter 6 fans!
Stanmi Japan (Streamer)
Gamers are always seeking the sparkle and passion they should have felt during gameplay. I’m the same. This anime has the power to remind you of “that time.” I’m looking forward to it.
Storm Kubo (Street Fighter 6 Official Commentator)
I’m super excited by the anime-original direction that’s like a super dynamic cooking! It lulls you with a beautiful girl youth story, then drops a “This is a match!” impactful scene. Even us original manga fans are convinced of its quality—enjoy!
Choco Blanka (Pro Gamer, ZETA DIVISION Street Fighter Division)
I met fighting games through Street Fighter IV, and this reminded me of the feelings I had when I was drawn into the charm of matches and various players! I’m very happy that the world of fighting games is depicted as an anime. High expectations!!
Mamataruto Hihara (Comedian)
I’ve also said “Tai Ari” and “Tai Otsu” in my gaming group chat, so I got fired up as if it were my own story. Starting on 7/7, I have no choice but to watch!
Mamataruto Himan (Comedian)
I thought young ladies and fighting games were opposites, but they’re actually similar. Young ladies are passionate too. The blood that comes out as a gag is real blood, and I’m excited to see how much more will come out.
Fujinami Kon (VTuber, REJECT)
The animation is really to my taste, and the girls are cute. The content is easy to get into from the start, with parts that make you chuckle, and above all, the fighting game scenes are so powerful they draw you in. Personally, the voice acting is excellent and it was very enjoyable to watch!! I’ll keep watching.
Mokou (Game Streamer)
I apologize for a comment from someone like me whose MR is lower than the White Lily’s. Honestly, it’s incredibly interesting. At first glance it seems like a work depicting the daily lives of young ladies, but the content is a hot-blooded anime with heavy fighting game depictions. The sound of the arcade stick is too good. I can’t take my eyes off their future as they dive into Street Fighter 6 in a world far removed from fighting games. Someday I want to teach them a lesson with my Zangief!
Momochi (Pro Gamer, ZETA DIVISION Street Fighter Division)
I’m very happy that something I love is becoming an anime! I’m really looking forward to seeing how the matchups and intensity are depicted. I hope the appeal of fighting games spreads even further through this work!
Love Letters Tsukamoto (Comedian)
I wanted to show this to Horinouchi-kun, who was quiet in class and often teased, but at home he played fighting games with bloodshot eyes to vent his daily frustrations. He would probably cry!
Love Letters Tameguchi (Comedian)
I felt the same shock I had when I saw Ryu relentlessly beating up a car in 40 seconds in the bonus stage of Street Fighter II and thought, “Why do you get a bonus for destroying a car?” from this Tai Arigatou. That’s exciting!
Ryusei (Pro Gamer, SCARZ)
There are plenty of depictions that anyone who has played fighting games can relate to as “that’s so true.” It’s a sports-rooted story of young ladies throwing themselves into matches staking their pride. I was surprised at how high the production team’s fighting game resolution is, even grasping the niche details!
