The summer anime LV999 no Murabito has released a synopsis and scene cuts for episode 2, titled “Lv2: Because I’m the Biggest Fool,” which begins airing on July 8, 2026.
LV999 no Murabito is a fantasy based on the light novel series by Hoshizuki Neko, with illustrations by Fuumi, published by KADOKAWA. The original novel ran on Shousetsuka ni Narou from 2015 and has eight volumes in print. The manga adaptation, serialized in Monthly Comp Ace, has reached 20 volumes. The series has surpassed 4 million copies in cumulative circulation.
The story takes place in the sword-and-sorcery world of Earthclear, where people are born with fixed roles such as Warrior, Martial Artist, Priest, Mage, Thief, Merchant, Hunter, Sorcerer, King, Sage, or Hero. The most common and weakest role is the “Villager.” One day, a young man appears before a villager parent and child being attacked by monsters and easily defeats them. That is Kagami Kouji, a villager who has reached the pinnacle of LV999 and defies his predetermined path. He meets Alice, the daughter of the Demon King, and together with his companions, he aims for coexistence between humans and demons. What awaits them in a world destined for conflict?
Directed by Kasai Yoshinobu, the animation is produced by Brain’s Base.
Episode 2 Synopsis
After saving the demon girl Alice from the hero party’s attack, the strongest villager, Kagami Kouji, learns from Alice about her father the Demon King’s illness and her wish for coexistence with humans. He takes her and returns to the adventurer town of Valman.
No sooner has he reunited with his martial artist companion Takako than an unprecedented attack begins: the Demon King’s army drops monsters from the sky.
In the chaos of the town, Kouji fights with all his might to protect Alice’s ideals and their daily life.
Episode 2 of LV999 no Murabito airs on July 8 (Wednesday) at 24:00 on TV Tokyo and BS Fuji.
