Rakutai Kenja no Gakuin Musou ~Nidome no Tensei, S-Rank Cheat Majutsushi Boukenroku~ is a fantasy based on the manga by Shiraishi Shin (original story), Kentarou (manga), and Uo Denim (character draft), serialized on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform, with cumulative series sales exceeding 1.8 million copies. The story follows Eftal, a great sage who reincarnated from the modern world and devoted his life to magical research, only to die in despair after realizing the limits of his talent. Four hundred years later, he is reborn with his previous life’s knowledge and magic, only to find a world where magical civilization has declined. Together with the slave girl Anastasia and Merlin—the head of a prestigious academy and his former disciple—Eftal dominates the magic academy. This extraordinary academy fantasy sees a sage who reincarnated from despair overturn common sense.
Under director Ishii Hisashi, who has crafted solid works such as Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear and Yuusha, Yamemasu with precise direction and meticulous animation, the animation production is handled by EMT Squared, a studio that has long partnered with Ishii.

Three years after his reincarnation, seven-year-old Eftal learns that he is now in a world 400 years after his own time.
Living with his mother Iria and his half-brother Fraser, Eftal finds the path to the magic academy closed due to his lack of aptitude, and is advised to attend a military academy instead.
Still unable to give up on magic, Eftal effortlessly reproduces Fraser’s magic. In response, Fraser brings in a large man named Moria as a special coach…
