Witch Fatima Is Born! Sitara’s Resolve Burns Bright in ‘Tenmaku no Jaadugar’ Episode 3 as the Mongol Arc Begins

TV anime Tenmaku no Jaadugar aired its third act (Episode 3) titled “Kienu Honoo” (The Unquenchable Flame) on July 11, 2026. The episode kicked off the long-awaited Mongol arc, introducing a host of new characters and deepening Sitara’s burning desire for revenge. Social media erupted with passionate reactions as the story took a darker turn.

Mongol Arc Begins with the Four Princes

After losing her home and loved ones in a devastating turn of events, Sitara enters the Mongol arc. The episode reveals the origins of the Mongol Empire and introduces the four princes: Tolui (CV: Ryota Suzuki), Ogotai (CV: Hiro Shimono), Chagatai (CV: Daisuke Namikawa), and Jochi (CV: Kenji Nojima). Fans were quick to comment on the brothers’ dynamic, with reactions like “The brothers are here!” and “These four are historically terrifying but way too cute.” The peculiar greeting of sniffing each other while hugging also drew curiosity: “Is that a breath sniff?” and “What’s with the sniffing?”

Tolui proudly shows his brothers a copy of Euclid’s Elements, claiming he “got a good thing on campaign.” When it becomes clear he looted it as a souvenir for his wife, viewers criticized him: “What a stupid reason…” and “He took it without understanding its value.”

Sitara’s Transformation into Fatima

When Shira (CV: Koki Uchiyama) informs Sitara of the theft, she is furious: “For something like that, my mistress…” She initially rebels against the idea of serving Tolui’s wife and explaining the Elements, but remembers Muhammad’s words: “If you study and become wise, you’ll know what’s best even in trouble.” Her expression and tone suddenly shift, startling Shira. She puts on a positive front, saying she wants to become important and eat delicious food every day, but viewers saw through it: “Her eyes aren’t smiling…” and “Sitara has fallen to the dark side in just episode 3.” “The witch has been installed.”

With Shira’s help, Sitara meets Tolui. He tells her that the name Sitara marks her as a slave and suggests a nobler name. She takes the name of her deceased mistress: Fatima. Fans noted: “She made her resolve with her mistress’s name.” “A name for revenge that doesn’t abandon her family or her Muslim identity.” As Sitara declares, “I won’t be burned away by such a fire,” a woman passes by.

That woman is Doregene (CV: Ami Koshimizu), wife of the third prince Ogotai. When Ogotai calls to her, she ignores him and drops a bombshell: “I am not your wife. I am your enemy.” Viewers saw parallels with Sitara: “Another dark woman.” “They share the same goal.” “I love that intense look.”

Sitara’s Knowledge Impresses

Six months later, Sitara and other captives are tasked with assembling a tent for an imperial guest. She approaches a Mongol soldier and offers help, surprising viewers who noted “She can already speak Mongolian!” and “She understands them now.” She has also begun to grasp Mongol life, using the sun’s position on the tent as a sundial. Fans admired her cleverness: “That’s smart.” “The tent itself becomes a clock.”

The guest is a sage from the East who knows the secret of immortality. A Uighur man asks Sitara to help carry tribute, and she is led by the sage’s attendant, Chinkai (CV: Yoji Ueda). The sage, an old man called Changchun Zhenren, asks if anyone saw the recent solar eclipse. Sitara describes the moon’s phase and the light’s position in detail, impressing viewers: “She already understood that much?” “Her knowledge of astrology paid off.” Chinkai praises her intelligence, saying, “There is no East or West for a sage. Fatima is a sage the nation needs.” Fans were relieved: “Chinkai is a good person.” but also wary: “When a nice person appears, I get nervous.”

Months later, the group finally arrives at the Mongol headquarters. In the freezing cold, Sitara is taken to Tolui’s wife, Sorkoktani (CV: Misaki Kuno). Holding the Elements, Sorkoktani smiles and says, “You will teach me, won’t you?” The episode ends there.

Reactions and Next Episode

Because the first episode was a two-hour special, many fans were shocked when the credits rolled: “Already over?!” “It felt like 30 seconds.” How will Sitara face Sorkoktani? Can she reclaim the book taken along with her mistress’s life? Episode 4, titled “Ochigin” (The Hearth’s Master), airs on July 18, 2026. (Episodes 1–3 are available for free on the “tv asahi animation” official YouTube channel until July 18, 2026, at 23:30 JST.)
