Smartphone game app Hypnosis Mic -Alternative Rap Battle- is getting its second Nintendo Switch release, Hypnosis Mic -Alternative Rap Battle- 2nd period, launching on July 16 from ALTERGEAR, the sibling brand of Otomate. To coincide with the launch, the game’s theme song “Diggin'” will be released digitally on music streaming services from midnight on July 16, followed by a music video on the official Hypnosis Mic YouTube channel at 19:00 the same day.
Game Content and Story
The Switch version includes the main story’s 2nd Season, bringing together all six divisions: Ikebukuro, Yokohama, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Osaka, and Nagoya. It also features popular event stories and an original story written exclusively for this game by Hyoroshi Yuuichirou, the creator of the original Hypnosis Mic series.
Theme Song “Diggin'”
The theme song “Diggin'” is performed by Division All Stars, with lyrics by Machi-Def and music by Machi-Def and DJ dip, who have collaborated on many previous Hypnosis Mic tracks. The song is also scheduled to appear on the upcoming new album Trick or Repeat, which is now available for pre-order.
Album “Trick or Repeat” Details
The album Trick or Repeat will be released on September 2, 2026, in two editions: a limited first-press edition and a regular edition. Both share Disc1, which contains 10 tracks including three new songs and previously CD-unreleased tracks. The limited edition adds a second disc with 10 tracks from the manga adaptation’s bonus CDs plus drama tracks.
