The manga Kizuguchi to Houtai (“Wounds and Bandages”) is getting a TV anime adaptation, set to premiere in January 2027 on the ANiMAZiNG!!! slot across ABC TV and TV Asahi’s national network. Alongside the announcement, two teaser visuals—a “Normal Version” and a “Yowara Version”—have been released, and the official X (formerly Twitter) account has launched.
Created by Nanase Kaisei, Kizuguchi to Houtai is a “special fetish romantic comedy” serialized every other Tuesday in Kodansha’s Getsu Maga Base. The story follows Rize, the daughter of the yakuza group Washizumi-gumi’s boss, and her caretaker Kiriya, the young head of the group. Rize has a peculiar fetish she calls “Yowara”—she becomes excited when strong people show weakness. Kiriya is constantly thrown off balance by her antics, yet their relationship deepens. The manga’s humorous premise and comedic twists have sparked both empathy and buzz on social media. Volumes 1 through 4 are currently on sale, with Volume 5 set for release on July 16, 2026.
Animation production is handled by J.C.STAFF, known for Gokushufudou, Takemoto-kun Ima Docchi!?, and Honey Lemon Soda. The director is Miyuki Ishida, who previously worked on I.CINNAMOROLL Animation; this marks her first time directing a TV series.
The two teaser visuals offer contrasting looks: the “Normal Version” depicts Kiriya, the yakuza young head, enveloped in a fragile smile by Rize, while the “Yowara Version” shows Rize with an intense expression (described as “eye erection”) as she gazes at an injured, weakened Kiriya. The official X account opened on July 10, 2026, at 16:08 (a pun on the word “yowa”).
To celebrate the anime announcement, a free reading campaign will run on Comic DAYS from July 13, 2026, at 17:00 to July 16, 2026, at 23:59, offering all chapters except the latest one for free.
