Kino no Tabi Creator Keiichi Sigsawa Launches New Manga

Keiichi Sigsawa, the author of the Kino no Tabi light novel series, has started serializing his first original manga. The new work, titled Kemono-tachi no Peregrinatio (Peregrinatio Bestiarum), is co-created with manga artist Hayato Asaki. It launched on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic website on Friday.

Background

Sigsawa is best known for Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World, which began as a light novel in March 2000 with illustrations by Kouhaku Kurobochi. The series has since spawned multiple anime adaptations, including a 2003 television series by A.C.G.T., two films, and a 2017 reboot by Lerche. The 24th light novel volume was released in September 2025.

Synopsis

Set several decades after giant beasts wiped out 90% of humanity, the story follows survivors struggling to rebuild in a ruined world. The beasts have reappeared but are no longer destructive; they now obey humans known as Beast Tamers. One such tamer, Riko, travels with a young man named Al. Together they journey through the remnants of civilization, meeting people and searching for the truth behind the mysterious beasts. As they explore, the pair gradually uncover secrets about the beasts and the future they may hold.
