An original long anime film Chou Kaguya Hime! is teaming up with Sunshine Aquarium in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, for a special nighttime event. Titled “Sunshine Aquarium × Chou Kaguya Hime! Tsukuyomi Aquarium,” the collaboration will run from July 24 to August 30, 2026, each day from 17:00 to 20:00 (last entry 30 minutes before close). During the event, the aquarium’s nocturnal atmosphere will be transformed by the virtual space Tsukuyomi from the film, blending jellyfish, light, and music into an immersive experience.
About Chou Kaguya Hime!
Chou Kaguya Hime! is an original anime film that follows girls connected through song in the virtual space Tsukuyomi. It fuses elements of live streaming, music concerts, and social media culture, capturing attention especially among younger audiences. After streaming on Netflix from January 2026, the film had a theatrical release starting February 20. Initially planned as a one-week limited run, it sold out immediately and was extended until June 18, drawing over 1.2 million viewers and earning more than 2.5 billion yen at the box office. A revival screening, including special formats, is scheduled from September 18.

Jellyfish Area Special Performance
Inside the aquarium, the jellyfish zone “Kurage Kuukan” (Jellyfish Space) will feature a special light and music show synchronized with the film’s ending theme “ray Chou Kaguya Hime! Version.”
Voice Guide and Welcome Movie by Kaguya
Visitors can enjoy a recorded voice guide (paid) and a welcome movie narrated by Kaguya, voiced by Natsuyoshi Yuuko.
Collaboration Goods and Drinks
Exclusive merchandise using newly drawn illustrations will be available, including acrylic stands, can badges, and tapestries. Special collaboration drinks will also be offered.
Creature Displays
In a nod to the sea creatures that appear in the film, the aquarium will exhibit color-preserved specimens of the frilled octopus (mendako) and various sea slugs.
Mermaid Show at the Penguin Tank
At the outdoor Marine Garden’s “Sky Penguin” tank, a special mermaid show will be held outside regular penguin viewing hours. Performers will swim like mermaids to the film’s original song “Hoshifuru Umi” (Starfall Sea), creating a fantastical underwater performance.
