Sanrio has announced a new capsule toy series, the Sanrio Characters Miniature Cotton Candy Collection 2, set to roll out at capsule vending machines nationwide from late July 2026. Each capsule costs 400 yen (tax included).
This second series features 10 characters designed as miniature cotton candy, a familiar treat from festival stalls. The lineup includes: My Melody & My Sweet Piano, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Sugar Bunnies, Hello Kitty, KIRIMI-chan., Kogimyun, Usahana, Hanamaru Obake, and Marumofubiyori.
Following the popularity of the first series, which emphasized the fun of both assembling and displaying, the second series expands the character roster to offer a wider collection.
Each item comes as separate parts — a bag, a stick, and cotton — that users assemble themselves. Once completed, the fluffy cotton candy appears realistically enclosed within the bag. The finished miniature can be held by plush toys or dolls, used as a photo prop, or displayed to add a festive touch to summer memories.
