A new line of limited-edition merchandise featuring beloved Sanrio characters is hitting stores in August 2026, and it’s all about “Heisei retro” vibes. The collection, available exclusively at Thank You Mart (San Kyu Mart) locations across Japan, brings back the pop colors and nostalgic designs of the Heisei era.
The release comes hot on the heels of the 2026 Sanrio Character Grand Prix, where Pompompurin took the top spot with a record-breaking 70,647,379 votes. Cinnamoroll came in second, followed by Pochacco in third, Kuromi in fourth, and Hello Kitty in fifth. The lineup for this collection includes Hello Kitty, Pochacco, My Melody, Pompompurin, Kero Kero Keroppi, and Badtz-Maru.
The “Heisei retro” theme is reflected in the bright, punchy color schemes and old-school patterns. The collection spans 78 items in total, ranging from practical daily-use goods like laundry nets and folding umbrella pouches to stationery such as clear pen cases and flake stickers. Other highlights include coin case keychains, window mini case charms for customizing with small trinkets, acrylic keychains, box pouches with gussets for cosmetics, and flat canvas pouches.
