The summer 2026 anime Yani Neko has released the synopsis and preview cuts for its fourth episode, titled “Nyā no mawari wa henjin bakari nya” (“Everyone Around Nya Is a Weirdo”). The episode is set to air on July 23, 2026 (Thursday) on TOKYO MX, BS11, and AT-X.
Based on the manga by Nyan Nyan Factory serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine, Yani Neko is a comedy that follows the nicotine-stained daily lives of a group of irredeemable but oddly endearing cat creatures. In a world where humans and beast-people coexist, the beast-girl Yani Neko lazes around smoking cigarettes. She has no money, no life skills, and no sense of decency—manners and morals are tossed away like cigarette butts. Yet, despite being grimy, lazy, and trashy, the Yani Neko crew somehow manages to live fulfilling days. The manga, which went viral on social media for being “pretty dirty but somehow encouraging,” has now made the leap to TV anime.
Directed by Kimura Taku (Studio Lemon) and produced by Vivi Animation Studio, the series features a cast led by Natsuyoshi Yūko as Yani Neko, with Matsuoka Misato as Yaku Neko, Funato Yurie as Hame Neko, Shimizu Ayaka as Kansai Neko, Izawa Shiori as Aru Neko, Honzumi Rina as Imōto, Akechi Riko as Ochimpō Tatsurō, and Inada Tetsu as Ōya.
Episode 4 Synopsis
Even when Yani Neko tries to help people or work, she somehow only causes trouble. After getting fired from her part-time job, she ends up working as an assistant to erotic manga artist Ochimpō Tatsurō, who lives in the same apartment building. However, she burns his manuscript and is forced to “compensate” him. Then, the police show up at Ochimpō Tatsurō’s door… Is he going to be okay?!
Yani Neko has nothing but nicotine, but surely there is something she can do for Ochimpō Tatsurō. For his sake, rise up, Yani Neko! Ochimpō Tatsurō!

TV anime Yani Neko began airing on July 2, 2026, on TOKYO MX, BS11, and AT-X. Episode 4 airs on July 23 at 24:30 on TOKYO MX and BS11, and on AT-X from July 25 at 24:30 (with a repeat broadcast every Thursday at 28:00).
