Series Background
Based on the manga by Norio Sakurai serialized in Champion Cross (Akita Shoten), Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu is a romantic comedy about the gloomy, chuunibyou middle schooler Ichikawa Kyotaro and the cheerful, beautiful Yamada Anna. The series has surpassed 7 million copies in cumulative circulation.
The first TV anime season aired from April 2023, followed by a second season in January 2024. A theatrical film was released in February 2026, and a third TV anime season is scheduled for 2027. The cast includes Shun Horie as Ichikawa Kyotaro and Hina Youmiya as Yamada Anna, with animation production by Shin-Ei Animation.
