Apparel brand Graniph has announced a collaboration with the legendary yokai manga creator Mizuki Shigeru, known for works such as GeGeGe no Kitaro. A total of 19 items featuring characters and scenes from Mizuki’s unique world will launch on July 28, 2026. Pre-orders are available on the Graniph official online store until July 27, 2026 at 23:59 JST, with in-store sales beginning on the release date.
Mizuki Shigeru x Graniph Collaboration
Mizuki Shigeru, a manga artist and yokai researcher who left a profound impact on Japanese manga history, passed away 11 years ago in 2026. This collaboration brings together characters from his masterpiece GeGeGe no Kitaro—including Kitaro, Medama Oyaji, Nezumi Otoko, Ittan-momen, and Nurikabe—as well as elements from the original Haka no Kitaro. Graniph’s signature style translates Mizuki’s eerie yet whimsical yokai world into wearable designs.
Kitaro and Friends Zip Hoodie
This unique hoodie features embroidery of Kitaro, Medama Oyaji, Ittan-momen, Nezumi Otoko, Neko Musume, Koakijiji, and Sunakake Babaa scattered across the front. The back uses embroidery of Nurikabe’s “eyes” and “hands” to represent the yokai as a whole.
Kitaro’s Father Big Silhouette T-Shirt
A dynamic print of Kitaro’s father (in his living form) adorns the back, while Medama Oyaji appears on the front. Made from 100% cotton with a rough texture.
GeGeGe no Shadow Big Silhouette T-Shirt
Graniph’s original character “Beautiful Shadow” appears dressed in Kitaro’s striped vest (chanchanko) inside a pocket, with a comical “bibi-bi” spirit antenna. The back shows the character launching Kitaro’s remote-control geta sandals.
Hyakki Yakou Big Silhouette Half-Sleeve Shirt
The “Kitaro Family” leads a procession of eerie yokai in a striking design. The hitodama (spirit flames) on the chest use glow-in-the-dark embroidery that faintly lights up in darkness. Made from polyester.
Haka no Kitaro Shoulder Bag
Combining Kitaro, Mizuki, Kitaro’s father, and other memorable characters and scenes, this bag captures the eerie and strange world of Haka no Kitaro. Hitodama and text are embroidered, while a frightened-looking Mizuki is printed as a name label. Large enough to hold A4-sized items.
Kitaro and Ittan-momen Custom Pouch
A mini pouch with a flap featuring embroidered Kitaro riding Ittan-momen. An applique of Medama Oyaji adds a cute touch. Perfect size for lip balm or earphones.
GeGeGe no Shadow Charm
Graniph’s original character “Beautiful Shadow” in Kitaro’s chanchanko becomes a mini plush charm. Made from soft short-boa material, approximately 10 cm tall (body length).
