The official website for the television anime adaptation of Nana Mikoshiba‘s Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu (The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) light novel revealed additional cast, staff, and a teaser promotional video for the second season on Friday. The new season is scheduled to premiere in October 2026 on TBS and BS11.

Masahiro Takata returns to direct the second season, also taking over series composition and sound director at Zero-G. Scripts are penned by Masahiro Takata (Bananya), Tomoko Shinozuka (Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii), and Takahito Oonishi (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon). Mariko Kawamoto (Mahou Shoujo Taisen) is designing the characters, replacing Makoto Shimojima.
Produced by Cloud Hearts, the first season aired as a 12-episode series in Winter 2023. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.
Light Novel and Manga
Mikoshiba began writing the light novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2019. Kodansha began publishing the novel under its Ranobe Bunko imprint in July 2020, with illustrations by Riko Korie. The ninth volume was published on June 2.
Norihito Sasaki began a manga adaptation in Magazine pocket in June 2020. Kodansha released the 16th volume in April 2024.
A sequel manga adaptation by Nao Kagami, titled Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu II, began serialization on the Suiyoubi no Sirius web service on May 27.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in October 2021. The 13th volume went on sale on June 2.
