Summer anime Mushoku Tensei III: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu aired its sixth episode, “Shuuraba Futatabi?” on August 2, 2026 at 24:00. The episode delivered a major surprise: the return of tsundere adventurer Sara, who last appeared in season two.
The series, based on the web novel by Rifujin na Magonote that began on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2012, follows a 34-year-old NEET reincarnated as the boy Rudeus Greyrat in a fantasy world. The third season, which started July 5, 2026, focuses on the training days of Eris Boreas Greyrat in the “Eris Training Arc.”
Note: The following contains spoilers for episode 6.
Episode 6: “Shuuraba Futatabi?”
Rudeus is doting on his daughter Lucy, born to him and Sylphiette. Former adventurer Suzanne, once a member of Rudeus’s old party “Counter Arrow,” has retired and moved to the same town to work as a wet nurse. When Rudeus asks about Sara, Suzanne reveals she is still adventuring. Sara, the tsundere girl who debuted in season 2 episode 2, left Rudeus with bitter memories.
Grown Sara and Reunion
Roxy is hired to escort Princess Ranoa and the second princess of Asura, Ariel, on a pilgrimage. The adventurer party “Amazoness Ace” had a sick member, so Rudeus joins at Roxy’s request. When they meet the party, a grown Sara is among them. Rudeus is stunned, and Sara mutters, “So it’s you.”
Online reactions included: “Oh my,” “This is awkward,” “That Sara from back then,” and “So this is the shuuraba (battlefield).”
Rudeus and Sara had a complicated past: she initially disliked him but later fell for him, only for their relationship to end due to Rudeus’s physical issues. He thought he would never see her again.
Ariel and Sylphiette’s Consideration
During the escort journey, Rudeus avoids Sara. Sylphiette, accompanying as Ariel’s guardian mage, encourages him to at least talk. Seeing his hesitation, Ariel feigns thirst and asks for yellow fruit from the roadside, subtly sending Sara and Rudeus together. Sylphiette adds, “Rudy alone is enough. He won’t run away.” Fans praised the duo: “Sylphy is strong,” “A wife who can read the room,” “Double considerate girls!”
When They Were Young
Rudeus realizes he has been running away. He and Sara go to pick fruit, and on the way back they talk normally. Sara mentions that an all-female party is easygoing with no romantic troubles. Rudeus apologizes, but Sara insists she doesn’t want an apology. They both admit they wanted to apologize to each other. Fans commented: “They were both young,” “It’s good they can talk honestly now,” and “They became comrades.”
Author Rifujin na Magonote tweeted: “Shuuraba, enman kaiketsu! Yokattta ne Rudeus. Doronuma no na wa henkyou da!” (The battlefield is resolved peacefully! Good for you, Rudeus. The name ‘quagmire’ is revoked!)
Sword King Eris’s Birth
After the escort ends, Sara warns Rudeus not to compare his two wives. Rudeus assures them he won’t take a third wife, but a flash of red hair crosses his mind. Meanwhile, Sword God Gal Farion announces a contest to decide the next Sword King. Eris faces Nina, the Sword God’s daughter, and defeats her in a single blow. Fans laughed: “Instant win,” “One strike and it was over.”
Post-broadcast reactions included: “This time they parted well,” “Sylphy is the perfect wife,” “It was great to see a grown Rudeus,” and “They’re setting up a flag for a third wife – and then Eris appears right after, lol.”
Voice actress Fujidera Minori, who played Princess Ranoa, revealed she watched season 2 in real time during high school. “I’m so honored to be part of Mushoku Tensei!” she said.
The next episode is titled “Dai Yon Dankai” (Fourth Stage). Fans are both excited and anxious: “Probably the daily life arc ends next time – finally a big development,” and “What is the fourth stage? A bit scary…”
Mushoku Tensei III airs every Sunday at 24:00 on TOKYO MX and BS11, with additional broadcasts on KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and AT-X. Streaming begins simultaneously on ABEMA and dAnime Store.
