Pokémon Happy Set Returns to McDonald’s Japan with 12 Toys Featuring Pikachu, Eevee, Snorlax, and Generations of Starter Pokémon

McDonald’s Japan is bringing back the Pokémon Happy Set (Happy Meal) as part of its ongoing “Pokémon Summer Mac” campaign. Starting August 7, 2026, the limited-time promotion will offer a total of 12 different Pokémon toys across two waves, celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

The lineup includes fan favorites such as Pikachu, Eevee, and Snorlax, alongside the iconic starter trios from multiple generations. In total, 30 different Pokémon species appear across the toys, with each toy featuring holographic Pokémon panels that can be swapped and used in play.

Wave 1: Pikachu and Classic Starters

The first wave of toys features Pikachu, plus the starter Pokémon from Pokémon Red & Green and Pokémon Gold & Silver. Specific toys include:

All 12 toys are designed to encourage fine motor skills through rolling, spinning, and shooting play. The Pokémon panels—featuring holographic fronts and Pokémon names and Pokédex numbers on the back—can be swapped between toys, allowing children to trade and play games with friends, fostering social skills and communication.

Sales Details

The Pokémon Happy Set will be available at McDonald’s locations nationwide (excluding some stores) from August 7, 2026, for approximately three weeks. During the first three days (August 7–9), each group is limited to purchasing up to six sets per transaction. Note that weekend card giveaways will not be offered.
