The stop-motion anime “Komadori Mofu Mofu Parade” has been announced to premiere in January 2027 on the TV Tokyo network across six stations. The series features mini-characters “Mofu Mofu” based on the 16 idols from the popular franchise “Idolish7”.
Directed by Aomatsu Takuma, known for his work on the short film “Puppet Sunsun”, the anime is produced by Dwarf, the stop-motion animation studio behind Netflix series “Pokémon Concierge” and “Rilakkuma and Kaoru-san”. The combination of Aomatsu and Dwarf promises a unique “blissful one minute” of individuality and fluffiness. Sound direction is handled by Hamano Takanen, and music by Sekimuki Yayoi.
The cast has also been revealed. The character Mofuriku is voiced by Ono Kensho, Mofuio by Masuda Toshiki, Mofuyama by Shirai Yusuke, Mofumitsu by Yonaga Tsubasa, Mofutama by KENN, Mofusou by Abe Atsushi, Mofunagi by Eguchi Takuya, and Mofugaku by Hatano Wataru.
Additional cast includes Mofuten by Saito Soma, Mofuryu by Sato Takuya, Mofumomo by Hoshi Soichiro, Mofuyuki by Tachibana Shinnosuke, Mofuharu by Hirose Yuya, Mofutoma by Kimura Subaru, Mofumina by Nishiyama Koutarou, and Mofutora by Kondo Takashi.
Alongside the announcement, scene photos have been released showing the Mofu Mofu characters napping together, exploring a house, racing cars, and getting stuck in a sofa. The curious and playful nature of the characters is on full display, building anticipation for the series.
Anime “Komadori Mofu Mofu Parade” will air from January 2027 on TV Tokyo network six stations. Further details are awaited.
