Fans of the beloved classic The Little Prince will soon have new capsule toy treasures to collect. Two new product lines—an “Art Plate Charm” and an “Eco Bag”—are set to debut at capsule vending machines across Japan from late August 2026. Both items feature iconic imagery from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless story.
First published in 1943, The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) is Saint-Exupéry’s masterpiece, written during his exile in New York during World War II. The book has been translated into over 660 languages and dialects, with total worldwide sales exceeding 300 million copies—a number that continues to grow. Its deceptively simple narrative is filled with profound insights about life, love, and human nature.
Art Plate Charm: Miniature Framed Art
The “Art Plate Charm” series presents six different motifs from the story, each encased in a tiny frame like a piece of art. The lineup includes two variations of the Little Prince himself, the sheep drawn by the pilot, the rose the Prince tenderly cares for, and the boa constrictor swallowing an elephant from the story’s opening. These charms are perfect for attaching to bags or pouches, or even displaying as miniature artworks at home.
Eco Bag: Compact and Stylish
The “Eco Bag” collection features five designs that capture the story’s most memorable symbols. Shoppers can choose from the Little Prince, the fox who teaches the value of bonds, the boa constrictor swallowing an elephant, and the baobab tree that the Prince diligently tends. Each bag is designed with artwork on both the front and back, and even the storage pocket inside is decorated. When folded into its pocket, the bag reveals a different design, adding a fun surprise. Its compact size (W220×H320mm) makes it convenient for quick errands or daily use.
