Anime planning company Twin Engine has launched a new web manga label, Bibibi Comic, on August 7, 2026. The label opens with 31 works, including the first official spin-off manga of the hit film Chou Kaguya Hime!, titled Chou Kaguya Meshi!
Twin Engine is known for producing anime adaptations of popular manga such as Hell’s Paradise, Nihon Sangoku, and Atelier of Witch Hat, as well as original works like the blockbuster film Chou Kaguya Hime! and Mononoke the Movie. With Bibibi Comic, the company aims to offer a diverse range of genres and give every reader a chance to find a work that gives them a “bibi” (heart-thumping) jolt.
At launch, all 31 titles are available with their first chapters free on the official website. For a limited time, some works also have multiple chapters available for free.
Chou Kaguya Meshi! – A 10-Year-Later Spin-Off
The standout title is Chou Kaguya Meshi!, the first official spin-off manga of the hit animated film Chou Kaguya Hime!. Set 10 years after the events of the film, the manga is based on an idea and plot by director Yamashita Seigo, with art by manga artist Teruya.
The story follows the reunion of Kaguya, the mysterious girl from the moon, and high schooler Sakayori Ayaha, whose summer encounter and parting were depicted in the film. Now a researcher, Ayaha has worked hard to bring them back together, and Kaguya’s wish on Earth is simply to “eat delicious food.” Together with Tsukimi Yachiyo, the administrator of the virtual space Tsukuyomi, and their friends, the two enjoy long-awaited everyday moments and great meals. The manga blends the comedy of the original with a dedicated focus on food, creating a new kind of daily-life gourmet story.
A special chapter is currently available on the Bibibi Comic official website and in the launch commemorative issue. The first regular chapter is scheduled to be published in early September.
Launch Commemorative Issue
To celebrate the launch, a “Launch Commemorative Issue” went on sale at bookstores nationwide on August 7, priced at 935 yen (tax included). The cover features Kaguya and Sakayori Ayaha at the center, surrounded by characters from all the series starting in the label. The issue includes special chapters from 27 works, a special page introducing unreleased original art from the film Chou Kaguya Hime!, and a clear card as a bonus.
Launch PV
A launch promotional video has also been released. Directed by Iwaisae Kenji, known for Hyakuemu. and Ongaku, and produced by animation studio Rock’n’Roll Mountain, the PV brings striking panels from Chou Kaguya Meshi! and other works to life through animation. It builds anticipation for the label’s potential to expand from manga to anime, fitting for a manga label from Twin Engine.
