Pingu, the beloved penguin boy, is back with a brand-new line of rubber charms. The adorable collectibles are set to hit capsule toy vending machines across Japan from late August 2026.

Created by Swiss filmmaker Otmar Gutmann, Pingu is a stop-motion animation series that first took shape as a test film in 1980. The character celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2025, and since 1990, the TV series has been broadcast in more than 155 countries and regions worldwide. The warm and humorous adventures of Pingu and his friends have captured hearts across the globe.
This new lineup features Pingu in a variety of expressions, including a sleepy “Suyasuya” Pingu, a tongue-out “Be~” Pingu, and a smug “Fufufun” Pingu. With 10 different designs in total, fans will find it hard to resist comparing them all.
