The TV anime Skip to Loafer has revealed major updates for its upcoming second season. Officially titled Skip to Loafer 2nd season, the new installment is set to premiere in April 2027. Alongside the announcement, a teaser PV, a brand-new illustration, and comments from main cast members Kurozawa Tomoyo and Egoshi Akinori were released.
Based on the manga by Takamatsu Misaki serialized in Monthly Afternoon, Skip to Loafer is a school comedy centered on Iwakura Mitsumi, a bright but slightly awkward girl from the countryside who moves to Tokyo after acing the entrance exam for a prestigious high school. Her gentle, naturally quirky personality gradually influences her colorful classmates.
In the second season, the story picks up roughly half a year after Mitsumi and her classmates, including Shima Sousuke, began their high school journey. The teaser PV showcases the characters’ daily lives as the season shifts to autumn.
An illustration by character designer and chief animation director Umeshita Manami was also shared, depicting Mitsumi and Sousuke holding flowers in a warm, heartwarming scene typical of the series.
To celebrate the announcement, the official anime X account is running a giveaway campaign. Follow the account (@skip_and_loafer) and repost the designated post for a chance to win one of 50 postcards featuring the new illustration.

Synopsis
Iwakura Mitsumi, 15 years old. Having moved from a corner of Ishikawa Prefecture to become a Tokyo high school student, half a year has already passed. Is the slightly offbeat countryside prodigy now a full-fledged city kid? With changing seasons and a series of events, her classmates are a mix of excitement and nervousness.
