The completely new Armored Trooper Votoms film, Armored Trooper Votoms: Gray Witch, is set to open in theaters nationwide on November 20, 2026. The latest trailer and character visuals have been unveiled, along with a stellar cast including Sawashiro Miyuki and Ando Mafumi.
Armored Trooper Votoms is a classic robot anime series that first aired in 1983, created by Takahashi Ryosuke and produced by Sunrise. Its unique world and story have captivated fans for over 40 years, spawning sequels and model kits.
The new film is directed by Oshii Mamoru, known for Ghost in the Shell. Set during the final stages of the Hundred Years War in the Astragius Galaxy, the story follows soldiers who pilot ATs (Armored Troopers) called Scope Dogs, treated as expendable resources.
The newly released trailer shows Maki arriving at a frontline base to investigate Ash, their intense encounter, fierce AT battles, and paratroopers leaping into the air. The character visual, drawn by Kise Kazuchika, features Ash and Maki side by side.
To deepen the world, a top-tier cast and staff have been assembled. The cast includes Miki Shinichiro, Kaji Yuki, Nakamura Yuichi, Tsuruoka Satoshi, Sugita Tomokazu, Miyake Kenta, Chafurin, Otsuka Hochu, Ono Daisuke, Sugo Takayuki, Sakurai Takahiro, and Uesaka Sumire. On the staff side, character design original by Kise Kazuchika, character design by Nishio Tetsuya, Kojima Takashi, and Ogiso Shingo, mechanical design by Tsuneki Yukinobu, Sono Yoshihiro, Ishikuchi To, and Inada Wataru.
