The TV anime adaptation of Nakayama Miyuki’s manga Shota Oni has been confirmed to premiere in January 2027 under the title Ore to Yuu Nii!. Alongside the announcement, a teaser PV has been released, and the main animation staff has been revealed.
Ore to Yuu Nii! is based on the manga Shota Oni by Nakayama Miyuki, serialized in Square Enix’s Gangan BLiss magazine, which has been generating a huge response on social media. The story follows an elementary school boy who wants to act older and a gentle high school “big brother” figure, weaving a sweet, warm, and slightly overreaching heartwarming tale. The series carefully depicts the small but certain moments of happiness the two share in their everyday lives. Sawashiro Tsubaki is voiced by Tokudome Shinnosuke, and Shimizu Yuu is voiced by Umeda Shuichirou.
The newly released teaser PV vividly portrays the heartwarming daily life of Tsubaki, who bravely struggles to protect Yuu, and Yuu, who finds Tsubaki endlessly adorable. The staff information has also been announced. Under director Hashimoto Noriko (known for Given), series composition is handled by Ayana Yuniko (also from Given), character design and chief animation direction by Kuroiwa Hiromi (of 30-sai made Doutei de Mahou Tsukai ni Nareru Rashii), and animation production by Studio Hibari.
