The official X account for the television anime adaptation of Nakamura Satsuki’s light novel Futsutsuka na Akujo dewa Gozaimasu ga: Suuguu Chouso Torikae Den (Though I Am an Inept Villainess) announced three additional cast members on Sunday. The anime premiered on July 12 at 11:45 p.m. on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, and other stations.

Yamazaki Mitsue (Maoujou de Oyasumi) is directing the anime at Doga Kobo, with Nakamura Yoshiko (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun) handling series composition. Kikuchi Ai (Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san) is designing the characters, and Hashimoto Yukari (Yubisaki to Renren) is composing the music.
Nakamura originally began the fantasy romance novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in July 2020. Ichijinsha began printing the series under its Ichijinsha Novels imprint in December that year, featuring illustrations by Yuki Kana (number24). The 12th volume went on sale on March 31, with the 13th volume scheduled for a September 30 release.
Comic ZERO-SUM began serializing a manga adaptation by Ohitsuji Ei in December 2020. Ichijinsha published the tenth volume on March 31.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English in March 2023. The tenth light novel volume shipped on May 5, with the 11th volume scheduled to be released on September 22. The ninth manga volume was released on August 4.
