The TV anime Meitantei Precure! has released the synopsis and preview cuts for episode 31, titled “Meitantei Cure Arcana,” which is set to air on August 30, 2026.
Meitantei Precure! is the 23rd entry in the Precure franchise, featuring a detective motif and the theme of “seeing, feeling, and thinking for yourself to find the true answer.” The story follows 14-year-old middle school student Akechi Anna, who lives in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she is guided by a fairy named Pochitan and a pendant in her room, and time-travels from 2027 to 1999’s Makoto Mirai City. There, she meets Kobayashi Mikuru, a 14-year-old girl who aspires to be a great detective. When an incident occurs involving the Phantom Thief group Phantom, who steal precious things, Anna and Mikuru transform into the Precure detectives to protect everyone’s smiles through deduction. The question remains whether Anna can return to her original time.
Episode 31 Synopsis
In episode 31, Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, and Cure Eclair face Eclipse Shadow, but they are overwhelmed by its immense power and their transformations are undone. Eclipse Shadow approaches the fallen Kureha and mentions that Cure Eclair’s eyes contain the same star as Uso Noir, referencing a legend that those with stars in their eyes become king. Mashtan then reveals Ruruka’s true intention: to break Kureha’s Makoto Jewel and erase her Precure power and detective memories, allowing her to live as the patissier Hoba Kureha.
Mashtan tries to convince them that this is Ruruka’s kindness, but Anna and Mikuru refuse, declaring it is not kindness. They transform again and reach out to Kureha. Kureha also transforms once more, and together they stand against Eclipse Shadow, who demands even more power from Dechi Again.
Episode 31 “Meitantei Cure Arcana” will air on August 30, 2026, at 8:30 AM on ABC TV and TV Asahi’s 24-station network.
