During a special livestream presentation on Saturday, the production team for the new television anime adaptation of Osamu Akimoto’s Kochira Katsushikaku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo (familiarly known as KochiKame) revealed the main cast, staff, a key visual, and a character promotional video. The series is scheduled to premiere on Fuji TV in 2027.

The new series, titled Shin Kochira Katsushikaku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo, is a commemorative project celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original manga. Osamu Akimoto serialized KochiKame in Weekly Shounen Jump from September 1976 to September 2016, with Shueisha releasing the 201st and final volume in October 2021.
The original television anime, also produced by Gallop, aired for 373 episodes from Summer 1996 to Fall 2004. Two side-story movies followed: the first, Kameari Park Precinct, in December 1999, and the second, UFO Shuurai! Tornado Daisakusen!!, in December 2003. The manga has also inspired multiple special episodes, with the most recent being The Final – Ryoutsu Kankichi Saigo no Hi, which premiered in September 2016.
The newly released character promotional video gives fans an early look at the returning cast and the fresh animation style. The anime is expected to bring more updates closer to its 2027 premiere.
