Autumn 2026 Anime ‘dreamland’ Adds Takuya Eguchi, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Masahiko Tanaka to Cast

The TV anime dreamland has announced three new cast members: Takuya Eguchi, Hiroyuki Yoshino, and Masahiko Tanaka. The series is set to premiere on October 17, 2026, in the ANiMAZiNG!!! slot on ABC TV and TV Asahi’s 24-station network (Saturdays at 2:00 a.m.).

Based on the French manga Dreamland by Reno Lemaire, the series has been a cult hit in France for years, with over 800,000 copies printed. The story follows Terrence, a boy haunted by the fear of fire after losing his mother in a blaze. One night, he realizes he is dreaming within a nightmare, conquers his terror, and awakens as a “Dreamer” who can travel the world of dreams. In this other realm born from people’s dreams and nightmares, Terrence’s adventure begins as he wields the power to control fire.

Eguchi takes on the role of Savana, a charismatic fighter with a sharp tongue and a quick temper. Yoshino plays Saba, a carefree art student at a fine arts university, while Tanaka voices Yung, a mysterious old man who knows more about Dreamland’s secrets than anyone else.

The three actors shared their impressions of recording:

Eguchi Takuya (as Savana): “Since the original author loves Japanese manga, this work feels familiar in its visuals and atmosphere, but the French rhythm and emotional expression feel fresh to me. I’ve just finished recording episode one, and I’m already looking forward to how the story unfolds. I want to enjoy the process of shaping Savana in my own way.”

Yoshino Hiroyuki (as Saba): “I’m Yoshino, and I’ll be voicing Saba. Apparently, he’s a bit older than the other members, but I hope you’ll enjoy seeing how he acts. There’s still so much I don’t know, but I’ll do my best to bring the character to life based on what I learn on set. Please look forward to dreamland!”

Tanaka Masahiko (as Yung): “Yung is a legendary former traveler who once journeyed through Dreamland. Though he appears calm and quiet, he quietly guides the young travelers down the right path. But he’s still a man full of mystery. Stay tuned for what he’ll do next!”
