It becomes clear that Sagume’s plan from the very beginning was to eliminate Ramaga and safeguard Tendokai from within. Yet the manner in which she sought power—by draining human life force—leaves viewers uneasy. “Is Sagume really an ally?” many wonder. Even though Sagume acted with good intentions, the fact remains that human lives were used as fuel. One viewer wrote, “Sagume’s actions seem heroic, but I can’t honestly cheer for her.
