New details have arrived for Rakuen Tsuihou: Kokoro no Resonance, scheduled to open in theaters on November 13, 2026. The film’s theater-exclusive trailer confirms that Angela Balzac (CV: Kugimiya Rie), the protagonist of the original film, will appear.
Long-Awaited Sequel Reunites the Original Team
Rakuen Tsuihou -Expelled from Paradise- was the first original theatrical work from Urobuchi Gen (Nitroplus) and Mizushima Seiji, released on November 15, 2014. Set in the year 2400, when humanity has abandoned the physical body and the Earth to live in the cyber world Deva, the film blended sweeping sci-fi vision with breathtaking action in a full 3DCG production, earning huge success with its cutting-edge visuals and undeniable style.
Now, Rakuen Tsuihou: Kokoro no Resonance will hit theaters nationwide on November 13, 2026. Director Mizushima Seiji is joined once again by scriptwriter Urobuchi Gen (Nitroplus), character designer Saitou Masatsugu, and composer NARASAKI as the core creative team reunites to tell “the new story that lies beyond.”

Angela Balzac Appears in Theater-Exclusive Trailer
During the new information program “Aniplex One Focus 2026,” broadcast on September 12, the theater-exclusive trailer—which has been screening in theaters nationwide since August 28—was revealed, confirming Angela Balzac’s appearance in the sequel.

The trailer is currently screening at theaters (excluding some locations) that are showing both the latest Puella Magi Madoka Magica film, Walpurgis no Kaiten, and Rakuen Tsuihou: Kokoro no Resonance. A comment video from Kugimiya Rie was also shown during the broadcast.
“Just finished the dubbing the other day, and I’m truly happy to be able to play this role again,” Kugimiya shared. Exactly how Angela will factor into the new film’s story remains a mystery, and fans are eagerly awaiting further updates.
Character Visuals and Original Soundtrack
Additionally, all five character visuals drawn by Toei Animation have been unveiled. On September 12, protagonist Gabriel was shown in a striking arms-crossed stance, with the remaining four visuals set for consecutive release.

An original soundtrack featuring the film’s BGM has also been announced. Slated for release on November 13—the same day as the theatrical premiere—the album includes 47 tracks of dramatic score supervised by NARASAKI. The special three-sided box case, printed with a newly drawn illustration by character designer Saitou Masatsugu of Gabriel and Penemu snuggled close together, is another highlight to watch for.

Angela Balzac—you know her, right?
In the year 2400, humanity relinquished their bodies and the Earth to live in the cyber world Deva. When Frontier Setter’s hacking set off a rebellion by Deva investigator Angela Balzac, the security bureau agents she hacked escaped to the ground, stealing hardware containing their personal data along with their material bodies. Hiding their presence on the surface, they became a threat to Deva.
The name Angela gave them was “Fallen.” Receiving search orders from Deva, Gabriel and her fellow agents head out to pursue the truth behind the Fallen. Can they overcome the nano-hazard still lingering on Earth and reach the Fallen—and the mystery they hold?
The story of Rakuen Tsuihou begins to move once more.
