With the Netflix animation film Chou Kaguya-hime! set to return to theaters across Japan on September 18, 2026, a new social media exchange between two of its voice actresses has fans buzzing. Anna Nagase, who voices Sakayori Iroha in the film, shared a photo on X that caught the attention of her co-star Yuko Natsuyoshi, who plays Kaguya—and the reaction was pure Kaguya energy.
Nagase posted a picture holding two Muvie Ticket card-type advance tickets, featuring illustrations of Iroha and Yachiyo, with the caption, “Muvie tickets with Saori Hayami~!!” The post immediately drew attention from Natsuyoshi, who quote-tweeted it with the envious response, “So nice!!! So nice!!!”
Fans quickly reacted to the exchange, with comments like “Kaguya is jealous…”, “She’s so cute,” “This is pure teetee,” and “The jealousy is so Kaguya.” Many also expressed a desire to see the three of them go to the movies together, with one fan writing, “Honestly, I want them to see it as a trio (wishful thinking).”
Chou Kaguya-hime! is an original feature-length animated film set in the virtual world “Tsukuyomi,” depicting the bonds of girls connected through song. Combining livestreaming, music concerts, and social media culture, the film became a sensation among younger audiences after its Netflix debut in January 2026, followed by a theatrical release starting February 20. The initial one-week limited run saw sold-out screenings from the start, eventually drawing over 1.2 million viewers and surpassing 2.5 billion yen at the box office by the end of its extended run on June 18.
The revival screenings are scheduled to begin on September 18, 2026, at 249 theaters nationwide. Special formats, including MX4D, Dolby Atmos, 4DX, and SCREENX/ULTRA 4DX, will be available, along with various fan perks and exclusive merchandise.
Revival Screening Details and Perks
For the revival, select theaters will offer different audience gifts depending on the format:
- Standard / MX4D / Dolby Atmos: A5-size “Fanatic Omatsuri Girl” group illustration board (available September 18–24, while supplies last).
- 4DX: A6 paper clip featuring the film’s art (diameter 40mm, clip alone), 4DX screenings only.
- SCREENX/ULTRA 4DX: Gold-foil sticker (approx. 100mm × 75mm), limited to those formats.
Additionally, a special post-film music video will be shown after screenings: “Reply” for standard and Dolby Atmos versions, and “ray Chou Kaguya-hime! Version” for MX4D, 4DX, SCREENX, and ULTRA 4DX.
Other exclusive goods include a “Tsukuyomi Photo Spot Drink Cup Holder” (1,800 yen including tax at T・Joy theaters, two designs: Tsukuyomi and Shinsen versions) and an official history book titled Chou Kaguya-hime! Official History Book, available at theaters and the Shochiku online store starting September 18.
The Muvie Ticket card-type advance tickets (all three types) are on sale until September 17, 2026, at 23:59. A digital Muvie Ticket version with a group visual is also available.
