Pop-Up Shop in Ginza Features Over 100 Original Art Items
The pop-up shop “TOKYO MANGA BASE Shogakukan Original Art Fest” will be held at Ginza Tsutaya Books GINZA ATRIUM from September 20 to September 29, 2026. The event will feature over 100 original art products, including reproduction artwork from Sousou no Frieren and BANANA FISH, as well as exclusive pieces like a special recreation of Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring” inspired by Frieren.
TOKYO MANGA BASE is a merchandise business that focuses on original products based on manga source material, operating pop-up shops both domestically and abroad. It also offers cross-border e-commerce for international fans, making manga-inspired goods accessible worldwide. For this event, the selection emphasizes “original art” pieces that use manga cover art and color illustrations as design elements, fitting the artistic ambiance of Ginza Tsutaya Books.
Frieren x Vermeer Reproduction Steals the Spotlight
Among the standout items is a reproduction of the official crossover artwork featuring Frieren as Vermeer’s iconic “Girl with a Pearl Earring.” Created in conjunction with the ongoing exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka, this piece will be specially displayed and available for orders at the pop-up. Also on offer are “Metal Canvas Art” pieces, which use special printing techniques to create a three-dimensional visual effect, and other high-quality original art items.
Cross-Border Shopping Expanded
Some of the displayed items will also be available for purchase simultaneously through TOKYO MANGA BASE’s cross-border e-commerce platform. This service allows overseas customers to order directly from Japan, and is currently available in 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea. This marks the first time reproduction artwork will be sold internationally through this channel.
