Seirei Gensouki Anime Announces Third Season

Third Season Confirmed

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kitayama Yuri’s Seirei Gensouki light novel series announced on Wednesday that a third season is coming.

Anime History

TMS Entertainment produced the first season, which aired for 12 episodes in Summer 2021. A second season also ran for 12 episodes in Fall 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles and later added an English dub.

Light Novel and Manga

Kitayama began the adventure fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2014. The author also started publishing side stories on Hobby Japan’s Novel Up+ website in December 2019. Hobby Japan began releasing the novel in print with illustrations by Riv the following October. The 28th volume shipped on February 28.

A manga adaptation by tenkla launched on the Comic Fire website in October 2016, but it was discontinued in February 2017 because of the artist’s poor health. Minazuki Futago started a new manga adaptation on the same website in July 2017. Hobby Japan published the 14th volume on August 3.

English Releases

J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and the second manga adaptation for English digital release in July and November 2018, respectively. The 12th manga volume went on sale in December 2025. The 27th light novel volume was released on May 22, with the 28th volume scheduled for an October 9 release.
