Evangelion 30th Anniversary Festival Set for 4-Disc Blu-ray BOX on February 24, 2027

The first 30th anniversary festival event in the Evangelion series, “EVANGELION:30+； 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION,” has been confirmed for a Blu-ray BOX release. It will go on sale on February 24, 2027.

A franchise that began with a 1995 TV anime

Evangelion started out as an original anime with Shinseiki Evangelion, the TV series broadcast in 1995. In 2007 the project relaunched as the Evangerion Shin Gekijouban film series, with Anno Hideaki handling planning, screenplay and general direction. After Jo, Ha and Q, the concluding film Shin Evangelion Gekijouban opened in 2021 and became a major hit, recording a final box office of 10.28 billion yen and 6.73 million admissions.

Roughly 30,000 visitors at Yokohama Arena

The anniversary festival ran for three days, from February 21 to 23, 2026, at Yokohama Arena, and drew about 30,000 attendees from Japan and overseas.

What the four discs hold

The Blu-ray BOX is a four-disc set. New bonus footage connected to that anniversary special is also included, along with video staged on the “Central Tower,” the symbolic monument of the exhibition walkthrough area.

The package additionally comes with a replica of the dubbing script from the production of Evangelion Housou 30 Shuunen Kinen Tokubetsu Kougyou, plus a booklet collecting interviews with the voice cast and the creators that were recorded on the festival days. The outer box will carry a newly drawn illustration by Iseki Shuichi featuring 23 characters and one animal.

It shows not only the stages but also special talks by creators and voice cast members held in the lounge, Maeda Mahiro’s live drawing sessions carried out across the three days, and glimpses of the exhibition walkthrough area “EVA EXTRA 30.” The price is 27,500 yen (tax included).
