Mitsuishi Kotono Joins Gekijouban 40 made ni Shitai 10 no Koto as Company President

Mitsuishi Kotono is taking on a second role in Gekijouban 40 made ni Shitai 10 no Koto. The voice actress, who has played the plush companion Suzuko throughout the drama series, will also appear in the film as Hanamura Reiko, the sharp-witted president of Hanamura Wedding.

The plush housemate who quietly watches over Suzume

Suzuko is the stuffed housemate who has gently kept Kujou Suzume company and stayed close by his side in the drama. Mitsuishi voiced the character there, and in the film she continues to warmly watch over Suzume as Suzuko while also wielding considerable influence on the story as a capable businesswoman.

Hanamura Wedding is a business partner of the company where Suzume and Tanaka Keiji work, and Reiko is set to have a major impact on the two men’s journey.

A new chapter after the list is complete

The drama 40 made ni Shitai 10 no Koto began airing in July 2025, depicting an awkward yet pure office romance between two people of different ages. Kujou Suzume (Kazama Shunsuke), a boss approaching 40 whose life had gone stale, writes up a list of 10 things he wants to do before turning 40 after a sudden bout of anxiety at a turning point in his life. The story begins to move when his subordinate, the around-30 Tanaka Keiji (Shouji Kouhei), happens to see that list.

The film version picks up after the two have fulfilled the list, spinning a new chapter that follows where they go next.

Additional cast revealed

Alongside Mitsuishi, three more performers are joining the film. Takeda Shinji plays Hanamura Satoshi, Reiko’s husband. Hashimoto Jun plays Hashimoto Shinta, an ex-boyfriend who casts a shadow over Suzume’s memories. Yukimi Mito plays Shirakawa Mizuki, an employee of Hanamura Wedding.
