Episode 2 of the autumn anime Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 WORLD CUP Kesshou Member Ketteisen—titled ‘Ketteisen Kaimaku!’ (The Deciding Match Opens!)—is set to air on October 7, 2026. Ahead of the broadcast, the synopsis and preview cuts have been released.
The anime is based on Konomi Takeshi’s manga Shin Tennis no Oujisama, which was serialized in Jump SQ. and concluded in August 2026. The TV anime adaptation began in 2012, expanding the story from the Kanto Tournament to the National Tournament and then to the world stage. In 2024, Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 WORLD CUP SEMIFINAL aired, depicting a heated battle between the Japan and Germany representatives.
In this third U-17 WORLD CUP installment, Ryoma and the Japan representatives finally stand at the brink of the world summit after a fierce struggle. Coach Mifune then makes the decision to hold a ‘Final Member Deciding Match’ for the right to compete. The series follows the passionate battles between teammates who have fought together, as they clash with pride and determination.
The director is Tokumoto Yoshinobu, and animation production is handled by M.S.C. The main cast includes Minagawa Junko as Echizen Ryoma, Kaida Yuki as Fuji Syusuke, Suwabe Junichi as Atobe Keigo, Kiuchi Hidenobu as Oshitari Yuushi, Hosoya Yoshimasa as Shiraishi Kuranosuke, Sugimoto Yuu as Tooyama Kintarou, Ueyama Ryuuji as Tanegashima Shuuji, Ono Daisuke as Tokugawa Kazuya, Aiba Hiroki as Irie Kanata, and Aihara Takaaki as Oomagari Ryuuji.
