The LINE Manga romance fantasy hit Saikon Shounin wo Youkyuu Shimasu is heading to television, with a broadcast planned for 2027. The announcement came with a teaser PV, character art, and the reveal of the main cast: Hikasa Youko, Kimura Ryouhei, Maeno Tomoaki, and Ueda Reina.
The series has amassed 2.97 billion views worldwide, making it one of the platform’s biggest romance fantasy titles.
A Divorce, and a Demand for Remarriage
At the center of the story is Navier, who has been educated since childhood to become an empress and has devoted herself to the Eastern Empire. Her life is upended when Emperor Sovieshu, whose heart has been stolen by his concubine Rashta, suddenly presents her with a divorce. Deeply wounded, Navier responds by demanding a remarriage to Prince Heinri of the neighboring Western Kingdom.
Character Art Reveals Four Leads in Bloom
The released teaser PV footage and character art show off the imperial palace in all its splendor and solemnity, while capturing Navier, Heinri, Sovieshu, and Rashta, each carrying a charm that captivates at a single glance.
Navier, who has supported the emperor as the “perfect empress” and dedicated herself to the people, is symbolized by the nobility of red roses. Heinri, the first in line to the Western Kingdom’s throne, is blessed with a sweet and lovely appearance, set off by colorful sweet peas that underscore his ability to enchant anyone. Sovieshu, emperor of the Eastern Empire, finds himself drawn to Rashta after a chance meeting during a hunt, and carries lilies befitting his noble air. Rashta, whose angelic beauty and loveliness won Sovieshu’s eye and made her a concubine, is paired with blooming baby’s breath.
Beauty conceals the private designs each of the four holds. Expectations are already building for the drama that will unfold at the heart of the palace, and for the striking visuals that will carry it.
