Bandai has announced a Tamagotchi event commemorating the franchise’s 30th anniversary, but with a twist: the theme asks whether it is actually celebrating 3,000 years. The event, titled "Shuku 3000-shu~nen!? Chou Tamagotchi Matsuri in Shibuhara" (Celebrating the 3000th Anniversary!? Ultra Tamagotchi Festival in Shibuhara), will run from November 7 to December 6, 2026, in the Harajuku and Shibuya areas of Tokyo. The main venue is MAZE on the fourth floor of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku "Harakado," and admission is free.
A 3000th-anniversary mystery
The event is built around the theory that Tamagotchi is not marking its 30th anniversary this year but its 3,000th. The idea began on August 26, 2026, when a "mysterious stone monument" depicting figures resembling Mametchi and Kuchipatchi was discovered during construction at the TOKYO Toy Show venue. The discovery led to the launch of the "3000th Anniversary!? Great Excavation Project." At the main venue, excavated items tied to Tamagotchi history—including the mysterious stone monument—will be displayed for a limited time.
Stamp rally across Harajuku and Shibuya
A "Chou Tamagotchi Matsuri Stamp Rally~" will also take place at cafes, apparel shops, and miscellaneous goods stores around Harajuku and Shibuya. Participants can hunt for hidden Tamagotchi at participating locations in "Tamagotchi Atsume (#たまあつめ)," and the number of stamps collected can be exchanged for novelties. Some stores are also planning limited-time collaboration menus.
Main venue attractions and official shop
At the main venue, visitors can see an exhibition of Tamagotchi devices from across the series, a special cafe, and print sticker machines. The official shop "Tamagotchi Factory!" will open a limited-time merchandise corner selling exclusive items.
Tamagotchi Paradise – Neon Planets arrives November 21
The latest Tamagotchi Paradise series will add a new device: "Tamagotchi Paradise – Neon Planets," set for release on November 21 at a price of 6,380 yen (tax included). In addition to the existing zoom dial function, it introduces a "Planet Switching" feature that lets players move between multiple planets, along with a new "Tama Galaxy."
Neon Planets adds more than 60 new items and five minigames. Raising begins on "Cosmic Planet," and as players progress they can also play on "New Tamagotchi Planet" and "Tamagotchi Planet." More than 40 new Tamagotchi can be raised, including popular characters from past series and nostalgic Tamagotchi that have colored the franchise’s 30-year history.
My Lab Tamagotchi brings back the home-size deka Tamagotchi
Bandai will also release "Tamagotchi Paradise – My Lab Tamagotchi" on November 7. Priced at 9,900 yen (tax included), it is the first "deka Tamagotchi" for home play to be productized in 16 years. On its own, it offers more than 150 Tamagotchi and over 20 minigames, and it also supports communication with "Tamagotchi Paradise."
