Evangelion and the official fashion project RADIO EVA have collaborated on two new jigsaw puzzles: RADIO EVA Street Style Rei and RADIO EVA Street Style Asuka. Both feature newly drawn illustrations by Matsubara Hidenori, an animator, character designer, and illustrator.

The illustrations show Ayanami Rei and Shikinami Asuka Langley in outfits that incorporate street fashion. Matsubara’s art retains the characters’ cute appeal while adding the street taste associated with RADIO EVA. Once completed, the puzzles are intended to be displayed as interior decor.

Each puzzle has 306 pieces and measures 25×25 cm when completed. The compact square size still lets fans enjoy the newly drawn artwork in detail.

Evangelion background
Shinseiki Evangelion began airing in 1995 as a sci-fi robot anime series. It depicts the battles of 14-year-old boys and girls who become pilots of the general-purpose humanoid decisive weapon Evangelion to oppose the mysterious enemy called Angels. The series became a social phenomenon at home and abroad, with a heavy story that goes beyond action to explore the characters’ inner lives, conflicts, and the truth of its world.
The franchise has developed through the TV anime series, the old theatrical films, and the new theatrical film series that concluded with Shin Evangelion Gekijouban. In February 2026, the first festival event celebrating its 30th anniversary, EVANGELION:30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION, was held. It was announced there that a completely new series is in production, and further news is awaited.
