Get ready, otaku fans! The event floor on the 8th floor of Yurakucho Marui underwent a massive renovation in October 2025. Now, almost the entire level is dedicated to event spaces on a grand scale, with six different areas hosting subculture events focused on anime, games, and tokusatsu almost every day.
Yurakucho Marui is a huge commercial complex just a minute’s walk from JR Yurakucho Station, packed with shops ranging from fashion to various other genres. Hearing that this fashion leader in the heart of Tokyo has birthed a venue that’s like a holy land for subculture, I headed over to check it out for this report.
SPACE1: The Newly Renovated Largest Zone Hosts Events with Full Use of Space and Equipment!

The 8th floor of Yurakucho Marui features an impressive curved interior design. The layout allows you to walk around in a loop, passing six spaces on both sides of the corridor. The largest zone, “SPACE1,” which was renovated this October, is a hall designed for immersive experiences with three large LED monitors and high-performance speakers. It also has an LED vision that appeals to passersby in the corridor and a stylish entrance that naturally connects to the walkway, offering plenty of facilities to enjoy. They can host talk events and more using video and audio.
The LED vision often displays titles or PVs of exhibitions, and many people take photos as mementos. On this day, the “FINAL FANTASY IX 25th ANNIVERSARY THE EXHIBITION‐Itsuka Kaeru Tokoro‐” exhibition was being held.

Exhibitions, Shops, and More: Various Dreams Unfold in Each Space

In addition to the super-large new zone “SPACE1” at 195 tsubo (approx. 644 square meters), there are “SPACE4” for large events at about 100 tsubo, “SPACE2”, “SPACE3”, and “SPACE5” for semi-large events at about 50 tsubo each, and the smallest zone “SPACE6” at 23 tsubo. With spaces of various sizes, events with diverse plans and scales are held.
By utilizing such varied venues, events can be realized in the optimal form for the content and for fans who love the content, with support from planning stages. Isn’t it incredibly fulfilling for fans to have such events held at a representative commercial facility in Yurakucho, of all places?
Moreover, as special plans during events, fan meetings, handshake events, and public recordings of radio programs have been held! Furthermore, crowdfunding has been implemented with fans to aim for even larger-scale events.
It seems that Marui supports from planning to operation, making all events feel very smooth. Those little stresses common in such events can really affect the sense of fulfillment later, right?
By the way, there might be large-scale events that use all of SPACE1 to 6! What kind of events could those be?

On the corridor side, there are many displays on partitions and panel setups, adding to the fun of finding photo ops and unchecked events!
“EPOS Service Counter” Where You Can Create Collaboration Cards with Popular Anime and Games

One of the charms of Marui is the variety of EPOS cards that collaborate with popular anime and games, as well as artists, museums, castles, and various other entertainments. Cards that collaborate with anime works often have rare goods as usage benefits, so they tend to gain high support from fans. It’s said that many young people have their first credit card as an EPOS card with their favorite collaboration!
This floor also has an “EPOS Service Counter” where you can apply for EPOS cards and check the benefits. There are samples of various card designs with beautiful illustrations or amusing gags, so it’s fun to just drop by! After an event, you can even apply for a collaboration card of your favorite series!
The exhibition space allows free and wide layout according to the work or title, and with its calm, modern interior, this event floor lets people of all ages and interests enjoy their “likes.” By the way, there are various setups like collaboration plans with other stores in the building including cafes, and rest areas in the store where you can immediately share impressions, all designed to enhance the fun after events throughout Yurakucho Marui. For event details, please check the official website.
With excellent access—just a minute’s walk from JR Yurakucho Station and six minutes from Tokyo Station—it’s perfect not only for heading to your favorite events but also for dropping by during outings.
