About the Beloved Series

Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon is a Japanese-style fantasy romance that began as a light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi for Fujimi L Bunko. Set in a fictional version of Japan reminiscent of the Meiji and Taisho eras, it tells the story of Miyo Saimori, a young woman who has been mistreated by her stepmother, and her journey of love with the elite, solitary soldier Kiyoka Koudou, which starts as a marriage of convenience.

The series has seen a fantastic multimedia expansion. A manga adaptation by Rito Kousaka has been serialized on Gangan Online since December 2018. The first season of the TV anime aired in 2023, with a second season following in January 2025. Beyond that, the franchise has seen a reading drama, a live-action film, and an upcoming three-episode anime special in 2026 that will be broadcast on TV and streamed worldwide on Netflix.
