An Out-of-This-World Collaboration is Launching!
Get ready to board! The upcoming movie Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway: Kakueki Teisha Gekijou Iki (which can be translated as “Galaxy Express Milky☆Subway: Every Station Stop to the Theater”) is pulling into the station with a fantastic collaboration. From Wednesday, January 14th to Sunday, January 25th, 2026, the eat-in & entertainment space ORBcafe·ZeroBase Shibuya will host a special collaboration cafe to celebrate the film’s release on Friday, February 6th, 2026.
What’s the Hype About? A Look at the Anime Phenomenon
So, what is Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway all about? This short anime series took the world by storm when it began streaming in July 2025. Directed by Kameyama, who spent nearly two years crafting all 12 episodes largely by himself, it quickly became a massive hit. Set aboard a runaway space train, the “Milky☆Subway,” it blends sci-fi with a strangely nostalgic visual style, uniquely natural dialogue, and incredibly satisfying sound design that hooked viewers from the start.
The hype didn’t stop after the final episode. The official YouTube channel’s total views have skyrocketed past an incredible 150 million, and everyone from SNS influencers to radio show hosts have proudly declared themselves “Miru-Sabu” fans, making it one of the most talked-about anime of 2025. The new movie, Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway: Kakueki Teisha Gekijou Iki, is a powered-up theatrical version, re-edited from the series with brand-new scenes added.
What Awaits You at the ORBcafe Collab
At the ORBcafe·ZeroBase Shibuya, fans can dive into the world of the anime. A special photo spot will let you recreate a famous scene: getting your mugshot taken after being arrested for violating the Galactic Road Traffic Act!
Of course, a collaboration cafe isn’t complete without themed food and goods! The menu features original items inspired by the show’s universe, like the “Shippo wa Chanto Aru Tamago toji Ebiten Ekiben” (Shrimp Tempura Rice Omelette with the Tail Properly Intact) for 1,540 yen (tax included). They’ll also be selling limited-edition goods featuring newly drawn illustrations.
Admission is 550 yen (tax included), which gets you a 90-minute slot (note: one food/drink order is required per person, and the cafe operates on a complete turnover system). You’ll also receive a sticker as a novelty gift when you enter. Keep in mind that merchandise purchases are exclusive to cafe visitors, so don’t miss your chance during the event period!
