New “Yoroiden Samurai Troopers” Sequel Unveils Episode 6 Preview

For the winter anime Yoroiden Samurai Troopers Gaiden, a brand-new sequel to Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, the synopsis and preview screenshots for Episode 6, “Rishu Daseki” (which can be translated as “Helm Traces of a Guardian Who Left”), set to air from February 10, 2026, have been released.

Yoroiden Samurai Troopers is a TV anime produced by Sunrise, originally aired from April 1988 to March 1989. It follows the story of five boys, each possessing a “Yoroi Gear” (Armor Gear), who are brought together by fate to battle the army of “Youja” (specters) led by the demonic king, Arago. The franchise expanded with three OVAs: Yoroiden Samurai Troopers Gaiden (1989), Yoroiden Samurai Troopers: Kikoutei Densetsu (1989-1990), and Yoroiden Samurai Troopers MESSAGE (1991), alongside a manga adaptation by Hoshino Ryouichi in Comic BonBon.

Now, the official sequel, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers Gaiden, raises the curtain on a completely original story set in modern-day Shinjuku. Directed by Fujita Youichi, known for Gintama and Osomatsu-san, the anime is produced by BANDAI NAMCO Filmworks’ animation studio, SUNRISE Studios. The new generation of Samurai Troopers is voiced by a stellar cast of five actors famous for their roles in numerous hit series: Ishihara Aira as the protagonist, Gai; Enoki Junya as Uesugi Kaito; Murase Ayumu as Houjou Musashi; Takeuchi Shunsuke as Houjou Yamato; and Kumagai Kentarou as Ishida Shion.

Episode 6 “Rishu Daseki” Synopsis

Rama Ga gives Gai and the others a seven-day grace period.

While Gai is forced to choose between obediently becoming Rama Ga’s vessel or finding a replacement, Kaito and the others are crushed by the sorrow of losing Ryuusei and the cruelty of their battle.

Shouldering the feelings Ryuusei left behind all by himself, Shion declares, “I will create the new generation of Samurai Troopers,” and seizes control of the fortress train—

Episode 6, “Rishu Daseki,” of the winter anime Yoroiden Samurai Troopers Gaiden will air on February 10th (Tuesday) on TOKYO MX, Kansai TV, and BS11.
