Overview
The latest installment in the Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 series, “Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199”, continues with Chapter 6, “Aoi Meikyuu” (Blue Labyrinth), which is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026. Alongside the announcement, the main visual and the official trailer have been unveiled. Starting May 8, the second round of movie ticket cards (Mubichike) featuring exclusive bonuses will also go on sale.
Story and Drama
Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199 is a reimagining of the 1980 theatrical film Yamato yo Towa ni, reconstructed into a seven-chapter, 26-episode saga that serves as the newest chapter in the Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 universe. The mysterious title number “3199” may hint at a distant future—one thousand years from now. What hidden connection exists between Earth and the antagonistic Dezarium? The shocking revelations from the previous installment continue to expand the scope of the narrative.
On the emotional front, things are heating up as well. The love between Yuki Mori, captured by the enemy officer Alphon, and Susumu Kodai, trapped in a spiral of self-blame, faces the ultimate trial of separation. Adding to the turmoil is Sasha, the orphaned child of Starsha, who becomes deeply involved. Every character acts with clear conviction, driving a tense and brutal conflict that forces us to question the very meaning of the fight. What does the keyword “REBEL” truly signify?
Having crossed a space-time nexus, the spaceship Yamato arrives not in the future, but in Tokyo of the year 2026—an era long before the war with Gamilas, a world untouched by planet bombs. If Yamato were to set course for the planet Gamilas in this time, history could be rewritten. The same temptation of “historical alteration” that Dezarium pursues lies before Ryuusuke Domon. The future where humanity becomes Dezarium, the history of war itself—all of it might vanish. Yamato and its crew could also disappear. And yet… peace could remain. The wish to change tragedy burns bright. As Sasha watches with her crimson eyes, Yamato transforms into a black vessel. What awaits at the end of its wake?
Main Visual and Trailer
The newly released main visual, drawn by character designer Nobuteru Yuuki, and the official trailer give us a deep look into the emotional climax of REBEL3199. With the story finally reaching its peak as an epic ensemble drama, every character stands at a crossroads—what choices will they make after all their inner turmoil?
