TV Anime “Sekai Saikyou no Kouei ~Meikyuu Kuni no Shinjin Tansaku-sha~” Premieres July 5, 2026 – Key Visual Unveiled!
It has been announced that the TV anime adaptation of the popular light novel series “Sekai Saikyou no Kouei ~Meikyuu Kuni no Shinjin Tansaku-sha~” (known in English as “The World’s Strongest Rearguard: The Newcomer Explorer of the Labyrinth Nation”) will begin broadcasting on TOKYO MX, Sun Television, and BS11 from July 5, 2026. Alongside this announcement, a brand-new key visual has also been revealed, giving fans a first look at the main party in action.
A Tale of Rebirth and the Ultimate Support Role
Based on the light novels published under KADOKAWA’s “Kadokawa BOOKS” imprint, with original story by Touwa and illustrations by Fuuka Fuuka, Sekai Saikyou no Kouei is an isekai adventure that follows the protagonist Arihito – a former corporate drone who, after an accident, is reborn in a world known as the “Labyrinth Nation.” There he becomes a labyrinth explorer and acquires a mysterious job class: the “Rearguard.” This class turns out to be an all-around support role capable of offense, defense, and healing – making it the ultimate asset in any party. Alongside a mysterious demi-human mercenary girl, a beautiful former boss from his past life, and a colorful cast of companions, Arihito climbs the ranks of the labyrinth nation’s hierarchy. The series has not only captivated readers with its original novels but also with a popular manga adaptation illustrated by Rikizou, totaling over 2.6 million copies in circulation.
Staff and Cast
The anime is being produced by MAHO FILM under the direction of Yanase Yuuki. The cast is led by Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (known for roles in Sword Art Online and The Rising of the Shield Hero) as the protagonist Arihito, joined by a stellar lineup of voice actors.

Broadcast Schedule
