Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 4th Season Announced for 2026, Fairouz Ai Joins Cast as Shaula
It has been announced that the 4th season of the TV anime Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu is scheduled to air in 2026. Alongside this exciting news, the second teaser visual has been revealed, and it was also announced that the new character, Shaula, will be voiced by Fairouz Ai. The introduction to the story and character descriptions have also been released.
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu is a fantasy series based on the light novel by Longtuki Tappei, which began serialization on the novel posting site “Shousetsuka ni Narou” in April 2012 and was later published under “MF Bunko J” by KADOKAWA starting in January 2014. The story depicts the struggles of a young boy, Natsuki Subaru, who is suddenly summoned to another world (isekai) and uses his power to “Return by Death,” which allows him to rewind time after dying, to confront a cruel fate. The original work has surpassed a cumulative total of 13 million copies in circulation worldwide, including digital versions.
The TV anime 1st season aired from April to September 2016. The 2nd season was broadcast in two parts: the first from July to September 2020 and the second from January to March 2021. Additionally, two OVA titles were produced. The 3rd season, consisting of the first part “Assault Arc” aired from October to November 2024, and the second part “Counterattack Arc” aired from February to March 2025, recently concluded. Immediately after its final episode aired, the production of the 4th season was announced.
Although Subaru and his companions narrowly triumphed in the fierce battle at the water gate city of Pristella, the cost was immense. Rem remains asleep due to the authority of “Gluttony,” Krusch has been robbed of her memories, and Julius has had his name stolen. In search of a clue to save them, Subaru learns of the existence of the “Sage” Shaula, said to possess insight into everything and all knowledge.
Thus, Subaru’s next destination becomes the “Pleiades Watchtower,” where the Sage resides. This is a tower located at the edge of the Augria Sand Dunes, a vast desert that even the strongest “Sword Saint,” Reinhard, could not conquer. Facing ferocious nature, unknown magic beasts, and unimaginable threats, the boy’s journey to regain everything with his companions begins, risking his life.
The new character depicted in the second teaser visual for the 4th season, Shaula, will be voiced by the popular voice actor Fairouz Ai. Shaula is the star watcher of the Pleiades Watchtower, said to be located deep within the uncharted Augria Sand Dunes. She has a peculiar appearance, characterized by scorpion-like features, and her words and actions are shrouded in mystery. While the “Sage” Shaula, one of the three heroes who saved the world, is said to be a young man, what could her true identity be? Anticipation is high for her role in the upcoming events.
